In 2007, Glen was drafted as the 35th pick by the Seattle Supersonics, who immediately traded him to the Boston Celtics as part of the Ray Allen trade. During his 2008 rookie season, Davis was a major contributor, helping the Celtics win their 17th NBA World Title.
In his second season (2008‐2009), due to an injury to star power forward Kevin Garnett, Glen started several games and established career highs in points, rebounds, minutes played, games started, and free throw percentage. The highlight of the season was ‘Big Baby’s’ thrilling game winning shot in game four of the Celtics’ Conference Semifinal win against Orlando. His shot, beating the buzzer, tied the series at two games to two and Big Baby’s legacy as a Celtic was forever cemented.
Also known as the “Ticket Stub” for his outstanding play when called upon to start in place of Kevin “Big Ticket” Garnett, Glen continues to contribute significantly to the team’s success. Last season (2009-2010), he averaged 6.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per game and recorded his 1,000th career point against New York in February.
His career continues to prosper. In December 2011, as a free agent, Glen was acquired by the Orlando Magic and will start the next chapter in his professional career on December 25, 2011.
Big Baby’s future is bright. His success on the court has brought him significant exposure and notoriety, but his commitment to helping others is what clearly drives him.
